my xperia tipo doesnt detects the headphones. when i switch it off and then plug the headphones and then  switch on the phone again, then it automatically detects the headphones..but there arises one more problem, when i plug out the ehadphones, i do not hear any sound in my phone, as if the headphone is still plugged in.  and this problem continues untill i restart my phone back again.

can anyone please help me ? my warranty period has expired.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

You can try to clear data for Smart Connect under settings > apps > Smart Connect > clear data. Turn off the phone and remove the battery for a while. 

You can also try with another headset. 

If the issue persists I would suggest that you repair the phone software using PC Companion:

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet".
