Sony Xperia T does not power on (most likely after low battery)

Hi there,

I have the same issue as these people here:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/56467

- Sony Xperia T

- About 1/2 months old

- Probably ran out of battery

- Next day it doesn't power on

Tried charging it with several cables, outleds (which are working on other phones) with and without sim/sd cards. Also tried power on without connecting it to power or usb to pc. What happens i just a red light flashing when trying to power it on (with power button). A steady red light when connected to power cable and tring to power it on (with power button). Tried the reset combination volume up and power button for 10 seconds with and without sd/sim card with and without power cable connected. All no go. Called provider. They will service the unit. I think it has something to do with the battery values in the firmware. And thus preventing it to power on for safety precautions of the lithium battery. Now I know it got a firmware update already. I just don't know if this includes a change to prevent these battery issues. Any idea if this unit has an update in regards to these battery/power on issues or if it will in the future? I want to prevent the same issue from happening again you know Winking_Face

Cheers,

Marc

Can I ask, how often does this actually work. I have the same issue, cant start phone went dead during a charge. It wont start up and also there are no LEDs lit. I can hear something inside the phone (like a small whine or buzz - which changes when plugged into the charger) but it just looks dead. So im following the " leave it for 24 hours" bit. But really, will this work?? Why are these phones doing this? Is it deep discharge by any chance? We would like some answers as these 400 quid phones and just black little bricks! Im sure you understand we would like some explanations.

regards, John

Not often, depends on your luck mate. Sorry for this news. It's the way Sony made Xperia T, so many people have this issue and still no official statement from sony. What is manufacturing date on yours? Please look for something like 39w12 on your pull out bit next to sim compartment. I'm trying to proove that Sony had released faulty batch of phones.

its gone back for service via sbe ltd so we'll see what they have to say. hoping for replacement. mates dad sent his back twice amd the  got a replacement which eventually is ok and no longer is suffering. i wondering if the batteries are going into deep discharge and the pone is unable to rescue it. we have simular problems with our AMX panels at work :-[

Hi,

I have the same issue as stated by Cyrus:

- Sony Xperia T

- mine is About 3 months old

- drained battery

- doesnt power on, doesnt charge, blinking/steady red led

Tried charging it with several cables, outleds (which are working on other phones) with and without sim/sd cards. Also tried power on without connecting it to power or usb to pc. What happens i just a red light flashing when trying to power it on (with power button). A steady red light when connected to power cable and tring to power it on (with power button). Tried the reset combination volume up and power button for 10 seconds with and without sd/sim card with and without power cable connected. All no go.

Last time I had strange luck to have to it turned on and be able to charge and update it to the latest Jellybean Software available provided by PC Companion, that was just about 2 days ago. I have been preventing it to get drained since because I know how hard it would be for me to charge it back up. Unfortunately last night I fell asleep and forgot to charge it, it got drained overnight. This morning, I had the same issue as stated above. Sony has really been getting to my nerves. I bought this phone in replacement of my Xperia Active, which did not live up to its promise to be water resistant and died on me last January. And now Xperia T is also giving me problems. What's been going on with Sonys Quality?

Hope you could help me with my phone, I need my phone right now and I really can't afford to go buy another smart phone for the 3rd time this 2013.

I have PM'd you my details:

Phone nr:
