sony xperia m2 Walkman problems.

Hi, i just bought my phone about 3 months ago. Im happy with most everything. However since day one I've had problems with the Walkman app. The issue seems to be when im playing my music over the external speaker, then "lock" the phone the music will.cut.in and out. Android 4.4.2 Walkman 8.5.a.0.6. If i leave the screen on it seems to work fine. Some of my music is old Napster dl's and some straight from cds. Sd card is a SanDisk 32 gig micro sd hc. There is also a circle with a 4 in it. Please help!!!!!?

When you turned stamina mode off did you perform a reboot - I can only think that this would be a possible cause and or symptom

I confirm that the problem exists as of december 3rd.

Walkman application goes silent from time to time when the xperia M2 phone is in the waiting mode (inactive screen).

Guys from 'xda-developers' seem to have figured the problem out: "to fix the problem, add the following line to your build.prop file -- tunnel.decode=false", but you've got to root the device in order to do that.

I wonder if Sony is planning to address the issue any time soon. The problem seems to exist for at least two months already.

O-okey, so a little tinkering showed that this is not, in fact, Walkman problem. This is a phone (toxic software update?) problem. Google play music and standard phone sounds (button clicks) go mute in the same way, and when the sound finally returns, they all try to be played simultaneously. Which produces nasty hajf-second stuttering in my earphones.

I seem to have found out the cause of s-s-s-st-stuttering.

To put it plainly, the phone does not like variable bitrate in mp3 files. All the problem files were mp3 recordings done with variable bitrate (128 and 256 average).

The files themself are OK - no problem with playing them on PC or on my old Symbian phone. But for some reason Xperia cannot play them contimuously when the screen goes inactive.

Really strange.
