Sony Xperia M2 Screen won't switch on

My Xperia M2 that I've had since March told me that I needed to updated something called 'PC Companion'. So I listened and hooked up my phone to my PC with the USB cord and it TOTALLY messed up my entire phone. I tried switching on my phone once it had finished and the screen stays black. If I touch the screen, I can actually draw out my unlock pattern and feel the slight vibrations of doing so, and tap on apps etc, I just can't see anything.

It's incredibly frustrating and I've tried everything. I've held down the off button and the volume up button, which I thought had worked as the Sony logo appeared on my screen, but wen't back to blackness after that. I've tried taking out the SIM card, I've unlocked my phone, held down the off button and switched it off and on again and NOTHING is working.

Please tell me I can fix this at home and not have to get a new phone???

Try Contacting Sony Xperia Support as it seems to be a hardware issue.

Hi @Kitiplier

I suggest you to try connecting your device to a wall charger and then press and hold power & volume up for more than 10
seconds. Let it charge for 2 to 3 hours, even if it doesn't seem to be charging. Also you can try by plugging the usb cable
as you hold volume down. Also try performing a system repair using PC Companion. This will factory reset your phone and erase
all data. Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power
button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM
tray or on the back of the device). Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue
Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen
instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the
repair or reformat process. If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC
Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP.

Best Regards,
