Sony Bridge for Mac problem

I am always having trouble connecting my phone to sony bridge. It just wont detect my phone even after i tried several times. After upgrading to ICS the problem deteriorates. When compared to  the iphone it is really hopeless, the iphone connects instantly to itunes when connected to the cable no problem at all and it is very fast. Please advise me on what to do

Begin with clearing data for the MTPapp in the phone to see if it helps, also make sure that USB debug is disabled.

If you still can get any connection try to do a master reset of the phone to see if it helps.

How do i clear data for the MTPapp?

Go through the steps below.

Menu > Settings > App's > Manage app's > All > MTPapp > Clear data.

Reboot your phone and try again.

I upgraded to ICS now. I cant find the manage app's option>all> MTPapp > clear data
