SE stands by their statement that the 2.1 upgrade provided increased volume for the low earphone in-call volume and the media/speakerphone volume on X10, but by reading forums everyone seems to agree it didn't improve much.  However, they did allow for a higher volume (much higher in fact), but your personal volume settings don't allow it to be automatically higher. They have to be increased manually or you would have no warning. If the volume increase was automatic it would have been like starting a car not knowing the stereo  volume was left up at full blast.  Everyone would be suing SE for damage to their ears or their phones. They put personal volume max settings in the Service Menu of your phone that are controlling the maximum volume right now. So even though additional volume is available, you will have to increase your personal volume max for your speaker to be allowed to hear it.  Most TV's are set this way.  The volume control on the TV determines the max volume setting, and the remote control cannot go higher than the TV it set.

Follow these steps to allow your phone to use the additional volume from 2.1 upgrade to increase your low-in call/speaker volume.

Try this (for both speaker and earphone, and remeber to manually increase volume during the test)
1) From the lock screen go to service menu by pressing: home, back, back, home, back, home, home, back

2) Then go to service test, to increase in-call volume press >earphone

3) You will hear voice playing, then press > Volume+++ to increase the voice volume.

4) Go back to service test screen, to increase media/speakerphone press >speaker,

5) You will sound playing, then press > Volume+++ to increase the speaker volume.

6) Press back to exit the service menu. Press back again to exit service

7)  *** You may also need to manually increase the in-call volume during call to reach new level.(I'm guessing this is a safety measure to protect your hearing from damage)

😎 Please post your results. I am interested to see how it is working for you.
