Software update failed, phone won't work

Hey! I tried to install the new software update but something apparently went very wrong.
When I try to turn it on, the phone will show the Sony logo, and then the upodate icon with an error sign over it. Then it shuts down.
I tried using PC companion's "repair phone" option, but my computer doesn't sense my phone being connected to it. The phone just shows the screen that I described earlier, shuts down after 15 seconds or so, and then the cycle repeats

What do I do?

Please try running a repair. You will need to turn the phone off and have it unplugged during the start of the process:

To repair the phone software
1.     Install PC Companion on a Windows PC from Support
2.     In PC Companion, under Support Zone and click Start.
3.     Under Phone Software Update, click Start.
4.     Click repair phone.
5.     Follow the on-screen instructions.
