SmartWatch 2 battery drain with Moto X and KitKat

Hi,

I am the happy owner of a SmartWatch 2, and have used it several weeks with my Moto X.

But since my Moto X upgraded to Kit Kat, the battery life of my SmartWatch (and phone!) have severely degraded: My watch used to work almost 3 days, and my phone 2, but since the upgrade the watch only works for 8 hours, and my phone just through a day.

One note: I am using the Augmented SmartWatch app to forward notifications to the phone (great (paid) app by the way!)

Does anyone recognize this?

Does anyone know of BT power issues with Kit Kat?

Edwin

You say that you've noticed this since the Kit Kat update.

I think that the reason for this may be that the watch firmware perhaps needs to be tuned for Kit Kat.

We haven't released Kit Kat yet for any Sony phone so unfortunately I won't be able to test this just yet.

I have the same issue with my droid max, after upgrading to Kitkat, I now get only 10 hours on my sw2 and before the update I got 36. Anyone find a solution to this yet???

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I've got Moto G 2 days ago and it has KitKat too, I was wondering why my SW2 died overnight, now I know.

Same issue here. Previously I was getting like 3-4 days of battery and now its less than a day. Another interesting fact, my previous phone was Galaxy S2 with CM11, which is Kitkat too but I had no problem there.

I have the same exact problem. Althoug  I don't have experience with the Moto X before KitKat. I just got a Moto X with KitKat and I used to use my Smartwatch 2 with a DROID DNA. It worked fine with the DNA, but with the Moto X, I can't make it through the day and sometimes it shows that the battey level is fine and then all of a sudden it's dead. The Moto X also discharges pretty fast, but I think that's a 4.4.2 problem overall.
