SlimPort not working

Tried using the Z1 Compact with a Camac Slimport (USB->HDMI) and it didn't seem to work. The same SlimPort works very well wth my LG android tablet. Is there a setting I am missing or something? I tried everything in Settings->Xperia Connectivity, but nothing seemed to work, or even be relevant. Am connecting to a 1080p projector.

Not sure it's compatible with Sony devices - I'm confident that a MHL cable will work

Aha! I thought slimport and MHL were basically yhe same thing. If I get an MHL cable, is that likely to work with my LG GPad 8.3 tablet? My projector is not very accessible and only has one spare HDMI ports

I can't speak for other devices as I don't know the video output of them
