SIP through WiFi

Hi all,

I have a Xperia Z (C6603), up to date, and a Fritz!Box 7340 router at home. The router has IP Phone (SIP) functionality. I registered my Xperia Z on my router as an IP phone, and entered the details in my Xperia Z as an account for internet telephony. They connected just fine, but ...

  1. Occasionally my Xperia has difficulty connecting with my Fritz!Box. I can't find why - signal strength should be fine.
  2. Occasionally the connection drops during a call. After some ten seconds the connection is restored, but speaking each other is severely handicapped 😞

Any suggestions?

Regards,

Paul

no real experience of this and hard to say what would cause your issues

some things to look at

try changing the encryption method on the router (TKIP)

the call drops could be your internet provider (isp) or in fact the other end if they are also using ip

make sure BT is off
