Do you have a MICRO sim card or did you trimmed a regular SIM card?
What happens exactly when you start the phone with one of your SIM-cards? Does the phone ask for the PIN-code (if you have one)?
You're using the SIM card holder when inserting the SIM? See page 8 in this manual to see what it looks like: http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/c6902/userguide_EN_C6902-C6903-C6906_1_Android4.2.pdf
As you say, it does sound like a hardware problem in the phone. Even if the phone was SIM-locked and/or branded you would not get that message. I can only recommend that you contact the dealer, local Sony Xperia support or a service location for assistance.
Hi,
I also detected some problems regarding the SIM card. A few times after recieving a call, the phone automatically reseted. Sometimes I could not send the message or make a call even the signal of the phone service is full, then I reseted the phone and could make a call again.
I recieved the phone 2 days ago... What should I do? return it or ask for help ?
Thanks,
Man in Carphone Warehouse attempted to reinsert my o2 sim . It was resisting insertion , so he proceeded to hack the tray so it would fit. Worked ok for 6/7 days . Thena phone message appeared ....no sim,no service. He denied doing it on his own account saying I "asked him to cut it up" sent for repair last week , had sms telling me that my xperia Z1 was ireperable. Carphone warehouse have told me today that its an issue between myself and the employee , "Anthony Hulme" .He's entitled tosue me if any of this is untrue. I'm going to try head office on Monday.
