Hi,
I want to know how to turn off the shutter shound - it seems weird to me that there is a choice of only three sounds for the shutter, no custom options and there is no option to silence it altogether. Makes the camera worthless becasue the shutter is so damn loud I always feel like the most obnoxious tourist when I want to take a snapshot of something.
Now I know this phone COULD do it, because I have a friend with the same generation Mini Pro, which, if I'm not mistaken, has nearly identical software and hardware save for the durability/keyboard. And while he also couldn't turn it off at first, then he updated his phone via PC Companion and suddely there was a fourth option - turn the shutter sound off.
My PC Companion however says that my Xperia Active is up to date but I am still missing the shutter sound off option. What's wrong? Has someone forgotten about Active users? And my friend's phone is from the same country, same carrier, so no law issues.
In case Sony never gets around to fixing this attrocious cheesy sound, can I fix this myself? Perhaps find the audio file in question on the device and replace it with an empty audio file? Where should I start looking if it is possible?
