Sennheiser Earphone problem

My Sennheiser PMX 658i Jack 3,5 mm is not recognized by Sony Go.

I wonder what the problem my, my other 3,5 mm earphones works  well with the Sony(I can see there is a very tiny diference in the plug, though). The Sennheiser box says they are made for Ipod, Iphone and Ipad, is that the reason?

Press vol+ on earphone control when you plug in the earphones.

Please be aware that this does not always work unless the button is continuously held down and the microphone is unlikely to function.

some of the headphones meant for iphone etc will not work on the xperia go.

sennheiser has some 'universal' phone sets. you could try those.

i simply use my old senn cx 300 (which doesn't have a mic). for music it is fantastic. while using with phone i use the headphones to hear and simply bring the phone closer and speak to it.
