I'm Trying to see the example movies that cames with the phone on my tv screen but it says that the format file is not supported...
Did someone try it? this was one of the reasons to buy it, to play with my BraviaTV...
I saw at the presentation on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GqFL_NB5PA&feature=relmfu minute 1.50 and that it is possible, but with my xperia S is only in dreams because it doesn't work... with photos wow 5 star... but with videos nothing...
Something that i noted is that if you try to see a broadcast channel the image is not perfect... and why, doesn't it bring codecs for it?
what is happening? is this to stay like that, pls someone tell me because i still have the chance to exchange it for another device (IPAD2 to my child)
pls pls pls

Hi,
Photos works fine with dlna, it's fine watching on tv... the problem are videos...
If it is not to work why tell about it...
I will try this app also, but I want is streaming... this is what real matters...
I can see one dlna service working, see what is there, but nothing works (video) images ok...
This could be the best smartphone ever, but not like this...
more 2 days and all my sony dreams stops, I real like Sony but... i'm sad...
I wish I can help you more but I dont have the S or a SONY TV or any TV for that matter.
Did you set up correctly the "Connected devices" app? I mean server and all?
What kind of format are the videos you are trying to play on your TV.
Keep in mind that SONY is horrible when it comes to codecs so dont expect much.
Your WiFi router, does it support RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol)?
If not, or if you don't know, contact the manufacturer of the router and ask them. It might be in need of an update for this to work.
I really dont know, but i use a dlna server to connect my pc to my bravia and see my fotos via wireless, I really dont tryed to put there a DVD and share it since i use bdv370 to watch them....
So you think it is only because of RTSP, why i get the message file format not supported!!!
RTSP is needed in order to stream any media. Photos can still be transferred but videos and audio cannot be streamed if this is not supported.
Many routers support this out of the box whilst others needs to be updated. Then there are of course also routers who does not support this at all. To know this you need to ask the manufacturer.
So... let me see...
I tried and I see movies from dlna on my tv and works, only the XS don't let me.
This makes me think that is Sony's problem... Is closed to this... It's sad, because it'a a fantastic phone, but closed, i tried to see a wmv on the phone, one received by email, and it didn't work

So it makes me think it's the phone!!!!
Samsung S2 works... wmv
You say your PC works but not your phone (when it comes to streaming video). They both should use RTSP but there could be differences and it sounds to me that this is indeed supported in the router but that you need to update the router firmware.
Have you confirmed if this is possible or not?
Not yet...
