searching bar on top of the screen with new update 4.4.4

Hello!

To start with, I think the 4.4.4 update was very cool! I like how the icons looks (despite that they look to much appleish for me..), I mean,  I can get used to the size. 

I also like the Ultra Stamina Mode, it can become useful if need be but not in our daily life...the Stamina Mode is enough! (but i thanx for the add) 

I like how the watch looks now! Everything seems to be working fast and fluent...but there's a little camera thing that I don't understand...The mode where you get to see your own face (using the front camera) and the the background because you also use the back camera...I tried it today but the circle in wich you face has to be, it's too small...no close pics allowed...it has to be like a "selfie-distance" to fit in it...too bad...

But then...my question was not about that...Since I updated the phone, a thin bar with a loop on it (I take it a searching bar) appears on the screen but I can't seem to make it work...I've tried to press it once, twice (like you do with the PC mouse) or even to press it long but nothing seems to happen, the loop changes its color from white to blue but nothing else...how am I suppoused to make it work? or what is its use? (Am I missing something?

I would appreciate any answer or clue!

P.D: As a suggestion...could you (Sony) make the main screen turn when you turn your phone too? It would be very useful...

How about settings > apps > all > home launcher > clear data > check again 

could you elaborate on?

I did what you said (this settings>apps> etc) but I don't have any "Home launcher" option...

what I meant before is this...(the red rectangle) marks the bar

you should be able to see Sony Home launcher or something alike. I can't see the picture until its approved by a moderator, you could however upload it on box.com and post the link here

Hi! 

I already found the solution to the bar on top of the screen! When you modify a widget you have the option "Hide" and now it is gone! 

Still I don't know how it was suppoused to work...

I still don't follow, what do you mean an option to hide, did you meant to say to delete/remove the widget?

Yes, I wanted to delete that bar tool on top of the screen, and I seem to have found the answer  

Now, about the Home launcher, I will try to look harder!  I will post more if I can't find it

Hi, u can't delete the Google Search bar as it's imbedded to all Kiktkat 4.4.4 by Android. U can only hide it or root ur phone using customised OS.

People do not understand that Sony stay as close to original Android software as possible and I believe they only adapt their music and imaging tech into Android. Sony always get blame for something Android did for their upgrade becos they don't noe that Sony does not build the main OS.

For me the size of the icons is not a problem, I mean, every so often they change the appereance so it will keep moving and changing..still it reminds me of the apple icon looks now but nothing to die about... I wud b more worried if my phone suddenly started to crash or overheat as I've seen in some other forum posts...it is true that the cam is lagged but going back to 4.4.2? Nope.
I understand that, Sony launches the updates but they are android updates, not Sony updates....thats what u mean?

Btw, another question, what is this circle that appears in the screen when you put your finger close to the screen?
