Search applications in all apps can no longer pin point location of app

I moved from Z1 to a Z5 and one of the most important features for when organising my home screens is to be able to search for the many applications on the "all applications " screen and pin pointing where it's located so I can simply drag and drop. On this new Z5 with marshmallow I am only able to search but not pin point where its located so I can't drag and drop it to the home screen. I have to manually scroll through the pages and find it myself. Super annoying. Also now when putting the phone on silent i can no longer specify how long I'd like it to be silent for. It will just remain silent indefinitely until u unsilent it. Wow a definite step back.

The search applications bar allows you to find a specific app and also move them directly to home screen. Make sure that under home settings, add icons to home screen is enabked.

Tap longer on the home screen and you should get a gear image to tap on.

by the way, i can still drag and drop apps into my home screen - but i just cannot do it from search. I need to manually scroll through the apps so i can find it, then drag and drop it. Do you know what i mean?

ah i see what you mean. I tried to enable it but thats not what i meant.

Here is a scenario.

You have a specific app you want to search for on the "all apps" screen - so you simply search for it on the search bar. From there, in my old z1, there was an arrow next to the app icon which if when you click on it, will take you directly to the location of the app. From there its simply jsut dragging and dropping to home. But in this new z5, the search only shows the app itself. No arrow next to it to show u where it is. So in order to drag and drop it to home, you have to leave search and scroll through the many many screens and find it manually so you can drag and drop it to the home screen. SUPER ANNOYING.

The search bar, you should have that. If I search for an app, I can simply take the result by pressing longer on it and drag to home.

nope. Does not work for me at all.  Not from search anyway. Only if you exit from search and just drag and drop from the all apps screen.
