SD Card Unmounting

Today I have gotten a notifcation of "SD Card Unmounted, enter a new card" 3Xs. When I go to Settings>Storage, the card is not being read. I then reset the phone and the card is being read again. This is happening every few hours. Just a while ago, I reformatted the card on my netbook, but not before copying all the files into a folder on my netbook and running a virus scan; no problems. I them recopied all the files back on to the SD card and put back on th phone. As soon as I did that, again I got that message. I, again, reset the phone and again the card read fine. What could be causing this?

I think that the next step would be to check if you get the same problem using another SD card. If you get the same problem using another card I suggest that you try to reinstall the phone software using SUS.

Dont listen to the now customary advice of re-installing the software as it makes no differance, and its all sony can advise.

I cured this problem by buying a new card which was a class 10, as i found on google that anything less gets this problem.

Mine has been fine now since i changed.

The issue may be brand, not class 4 vs class 10. I had this same problem with two class 10 cards, that were actually the exact same as another user in this thread:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/373925#373925

Both cards that failed for me were Sandisk 32GB SDHC "ultra" micro class 10. One after a couple days, one after a couple weeks. Both from Costco (in case it's their model/shipment).

I've since been trying a 16GB Kingston-brand SDHC class 10 micro card and it's been working so far. I would've tried another 32GB but none were available in my area.

Time will tell if it was the Sandisk card that was the issue, or if it's my phone.

I changed to a sandisk ultra class 10 and have no problems, put the adapt class 4 back in formated via the phone within an hour it had ejected.

Have you formated the card using the built in formater? I always use this on any device when adding a new card.

The first card I did use the formatter (I assume you mean on the phone itself) when I first inserted the card, and the card was corrupted within a few days.

The second card I did not format, and it lasted a couple weeks before corrupting.

The third card (different brand) I did not format and so far has been going 1-2 weeks.

Update:

My 3rd card has now unmounted and corrupted.

2 x Sandisk 32GB Micro Ultra SDHC Class 10

1 x Kingston 16GB Micro SDHC Class 10

The Kingston one lasted about 1-2 weeks before running into the issue last night.
