Hello,
I've purchased a while ago(July 2010) my X10i and now as I am changing the
mobile operator I wanted to unlock it. It's free after 6 months(OrangeFR) but
when I called them they provided me with the wrong unlock code and told me
they have contacted SE in order to get a new network unlock code. SE can
you tell me what can I do next, as they said 10-15 days it's already been 15
and I haven't received any email from SE with the code, or any other confirmation
that they were contacted.
Thank you.
Your service provider MUST unlock it for you
what if you just install the generic firmware
rooting and/or flashing firmware other than the one offered through PCCompanion or Update Service could violate your warranty (unless is restore to its original firmware)
if you decide to proceed

did you try getting codes from other service providers? here's one such provider http://www.theunlockarena.com/sony-ericsson/rs13wp8/ who provides network unlock codes at reliable rates. dont worry your phone is 6 months older. they provide codes for such phones too. try it.
don't you think its easier to just install a global generic version of the X10 and not to worry about codes and paying someone?
