SD card issues with Walkman app and Album

Wonder  if anyone can help me with this as Ive tried searching with no sucess.

On my Z1 I can add music and photos to my SD scard fine and initially the walkman and Album apps will find the media and display it, then, after a few days it will lose the data and not find it.

I have tried various media scanning apps, clearing the cache of each app, restarting the handset, unmounting / mounting the SD and to no avail. The media and SD card are still viewable by the phone and can be opened in both apps via file commander.

The only way I have managed to get the apps to see media on the card the card is to remove all the data, format the card and load it on again, obviously not a soloution as it simply happens again a few days down the line.

Any suggestions as this is ruining what is otherwise a great experience with this handset.

If it helps I am on EE in the uk running Android 4.3 (still waiting for kitkat)

Try settings-apps-all-media storage, force stop and clear data.Do you have an antivirus?

The data is still there and can be seen by both the phone and pc, its just these two apps that cant find the media.

As stated in my first post I have already tried clearing the data of the apps. Yes I do have an anti virus and its coming up clean

I have suggested clearing data for media storage app,did you try that before? Also, try to disable antivirus temporarily to see if anything changes.

This does not seem like a hardware problem with the SD.Are you willing to try a software repair?

Yeah I have tried the SD in various other devices with no issues. Cant try the software update just now as im off out for the day but may try later. Seems a bit of a last resort
