In the Xperia Z, can we use 64Gb SD cards or is the phone limited to 32Gb maximum?
We can only guarantee compatibility with MicroSD cards up to 32gb.
another point to take attention by sony, all other manufacturers in the upper class smartphones (except the htc´s, they have no slot for sd) can use 64gb or even bigger sd´s
read my post on this thread, I'm not say you can use 64gb but simply posted my experience, Sony only officially supports up to 32gb
and there is the problem, other phones in this priceclass supports official 64gb sd´s. many cheap chinese phones can do 64gb and for my new s4 it is no problem and official.
(but i want my Z back, the s4 is maybe better but ugly in my eyes)
I have a 64Gb SD card in my Z no problem, it is a sandisk UHS 1, this was really useful in my Xperia Play, unfortunately in the Z as you cannot move apps to SD it feels quite pointless
the Android needs an update to put that back in, fancy taking such a useful feature out of an OS, quite silly. 16Gb is so limiting when you only get to use 11Gb and things like games and offline maps take up many Gbs.
I still don't know what should I get and if it would work. It seems like the support for this is very specific on brands and classes.
Sony can you be very specific??!
Sony is very specific - they support up to 32gb
as you can see from my previous post I have installed 64gb without issue - that was my risky choice
