screens not working or something ?

hey can someone help me!?! i got my xperia for christmas, and it is playing up already i mean come on $200 phone and it muckin up already . my phone has been fine since i got it untill last night, i was out a few hours and my phone had died while i was out, i took my sim card out and put it in a friends phone everything was going smooth untill i got home plugged the phone into charge it turned on and was fine then somehow i turned on the tourch and it wouldnt turn off so i shutdown the phone to find out that it was never going to turn back on when i plug it into charge the little red light comes on but thats ll it does nothing is picking it up not even my laptop  i will get killed by my parents if they know its stuffing up they will say i broke it grrrrr

Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a computer, > press and hold power & volume up for 5 seconds or more > let it charge for 2 hours > after 2 hours > press and hold power & volume up for few seconds
