My Z1 screen has colorful lines

Hi guys. So I bought my Z1 a week ago and it was running fine until today at work. I pressed the unlock button and it was just a black screen. The backlight is on, and after a couple seconds the screen turns in to a bunch of vertical colored lines! Upon further inspection everything on the phone BUT the screen was functional. Seeing that I couldnt restore it to the factory settings through the phone, since the screen is messed up, I used the SUS to get it to the latest update. The update finishes, and I power on my Z1 and it does the same thing again. So I'm wondering if theres a fix for this I can try on my own, or if Sony can do anything for me. Help!!! Thank you!!

( I also tried hard resetting before i updated. I'm just so sad because I liked the phone a lot.)

Looks like you've already done everything  you can.

Take your phone to the nearest Sony´s repair center for further examination, because your phone is under warranty.

I bought it on eBay, so it shipped from Singapore. Does that change anything?

yes same colourful lines problem was on my xperia zr too

At that time, there maybe something wrong with your phone's hardware, you can take it to a service center to check, then buy another touch screen new  yourelf or send it to the store under the warrenty. And if your phone had the globle warrenty, you can take it to the service center your country.

So I called Sony, and everythin went great until I needed to give my IMEI number which was inaccessible because I threw away the box, and the screen is not functional T_T. I'm just going to take it to a local phone repair shop and pay a crazy price. Thank you guys!!

1. detach the cover of the micro SIM card slot
2. place a fingernail under the right or left edge of the label tray, then drag the tray outwards to view your IMEI number

There is your IMEI (15 digits).
