Screen Security not Working

Hi,

I have the sleep time set to 1 minute (Settings -> Display)

and my Screen Security settings as follows:

Screen lock = Password

Automatically lock = 5 seconds after sleep

Power button instantly locks = not checked

If i leave my tablet untouched, it goes to sleep (after 1 minute) but if I double press the screen anytime after that (eg. 10 minutes) it opens staight up to where it was left.

IT DOES NOT NEED PASSWORD or any other security to open,

Is there another setting I've missed, or is there a problem with the tablets security software ?

I may have misled you, I never had problems with the security, in fact reliably quite the opposite.

My problem related to software speech or the lack of. The reset fixed it.

It is simple and painless, just make sure you make a back up in the Sony PC Companion software and restore it from the same, after the reset.

If you look at the Samsung or Nexus forums and the problems they have, you will be glad you bought the Sony. It took me days to get the Tablet Z the way I want it, but love it now.

I am an Apple hardware fan, but only as far as their phones and MacBook Pro. The iPad just feels like a large ugly version of my phone, the Sony feels like a work tool.

Slightly different issue today, the tablet wouldn't go to sleep, screen stays on.

Noticed it straight after trying a Skype video call (to show someone how bad the Mic is). I then did a force stop on Skype and one minute later the tablet went to sleep.

Could the problem with the Mic also be causing Skype to somehow behave funny. Either way, running a video call should not result in the tablet staying awake.

That happened to me once.

Skype does say that it may not work correctly as these devices have not been "certified" by them yet.

In my opinion Skype has a lot to do with these problems.

Use an app killer regularly.

@ancientferguson you don't need a taskiller, that will create issues with other apps and it will drain your battery.

Interesting about the battery. Three days of light usage and I still have 71%. I don't auto start, purely manual. A quick tap on the widget, job done.

i have this same issue on mine. not really a big deal for me, but it is weird. 1 minute is my screen off time, i wonder if that time is what causes the bug? i have no task killer or replacement home or lockscreen thing. but when i shut the screen off myself or let it go to sleep, when i wake it back up with the powerbutton, it goes right to where i left off rather than a lock screen.

Does it happen on yours after using Skype video?

i've never actually tried to use skype yet. right now my tablet is just sitting on the home screen and i just reached over and pushed the power button and it opened right to the home screen again, no lock screen
