Screen Mirroring issue with Samsung Smart TV

Hello Sony Xperia Users out there,

Is there any one facing compatibility issues to do a screen mirroring of your Xperia with Samsung Smart TV.

I have purchased the Xperia SP two weeks back, not before getting the successful demo with Samsung Smart TV’s in the showroom to check the compatibility. It worked perfect out there. Same was for a weeks’ time, where I enjoyed playing games on my Samsung Smart TV with screen mirroring my Xperia SP.

But this happiness did not last long and now I am facing the screen mirroring issue. Both the devices (smart TV & Smartphone) are detecting each other; I’m also getting the “Screen Mirroring on” message on the Xperia, but just the blank screen on the smart TV with “loading” at the right hand side top of the screen which lasts for around 20 minutes.

I am able to perform the other smart functions like throw, wifi hotspot etc… but the screen mirroring L

Have done factory setting twice for my bot the devices, got both the devises updated, but still the same issue.

I checked with the showroom guys, over there too I am not able to connect to a single Samsung Smart TV now and it is giving the same loading error; but I got connected instantly to the Sony Smart TV’s.

I checked my Samsung Smart TV with S4 of my friend, and it got connected instantly.

All my settings (both of TV & Phone) seem to be perfect. But I am facing this compatibility issue only for screen mirroring.

Why this should happen, and for god’s sake I do not want to connect through MHL. Why should I purchase additional accessory wherein I have already paid for a feature. Also I don’t want that clumsy wire.

It has been only two weeks that I have bought this phone and I am hugely disappointedL.

Can anybody please help as I am exhausted calling up the call center guys (both Samsung and sony)

Same here. Hope it gets fixed with 4.3 or they'll get some nasty complaints over a thing which should be standardised. In theory, in the Display menú, in 4.3, we will have the universal and Standard android screen mirroring.

Have you tried reinstalling the firmware?

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

Has your problem got solved. I also bought a sony Xperia Z2 two days back and am disappointed to find out the the screen mirroring is not working with my Samsung smart TV model F5500. Pl guide if the solution given by Sony worked.

After the update, screen mirroring on my xperia sp work fine on samsung LED 75" except with suddenly disconnect the connection. how to solve this time limit problem?

Yesterday I tried a mirroring with a Samsung Led and it lasts not more than 30 seconds a connection

Same problem with LG smart tv. Get occasional connection but it's very unstable. It looks like Throw turns wifi and bluetooth on, and sp can't handle that.
