Screen is black and not responsive

Hi,

I've got the Xperia Arc S more or less 7 months ago and this morning the screen went black and I cannot see anything.

I tried switching it off but it did not respond. I took the battery out and put it back. I can see it switches on because it vibrates but nothing else happens and the screen is still black.

I had charged the battery in the morning so it is full.

I took the battery out and left it out for half a day but when I tried again this afternoon I can see it switches on but the screen is completely black. I still cannot swith it off.

I had the upgrate to Gingerbread a few months ago and everything had been working fine since. I had not had any problems with the phone before to be honest.

Can you please advise what I should do?

Thanks in advance!

A.

You have a malfunctioning LCD Display.

Your phone has a 1-year warranty.  Take it back to the store now.

Have you tried updating the software in the handset? If not this can be done with the phone powered off and using this program:

Should this not resolve your issue you would need to send the phone for service. Repair details can be obtained by contacting your local support team directly.
