screen distortion/flashing

Hi my first post have found this forum very helpful so hopefully someone can help me I have xperia z1c love the phone have had many problems but all seemed to resolve with updates bar 1 sometimes when I turn my screen on from sleep mode if a website or app was previously active or open when I light the screen up and unlock the screen flashes like and 80s computer game loading screen but corrects itself fairly straight away I'm wondering does this sound like a hardware or software problem

It could be either, however it would be worth trying to at least rule out a software issue via a firmware repair:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

I'll try that I already have pc companion on my laptop it's been an issue I've had since I bought phone in march on release day in Ireland, also it's happened the odd time were the phone will just restart without warning I had similar problem with xperia play my last phone and it eventually got worse to the point were the phone became unusable I've been using Sony products for 25 years so these problems will never affect my loyalty but if you have anymore information about unprompted restarting I would be very grateful and thank you for super quick reply (ps4 rulz)
