Safe mode on Xperia T that won't turn on

I have a Xperia T that I updated to 4.3 a few days ago. I just downloaded from Google play a theme called Color Pixel and after installing it, the phone turned itself off and now won't turn on. I get the Sony logo, the Xperia logo and the animated rainbow colors for a few seconds. And that's it. It keeps rebooting over and over again. Is there any way to turn it on in safe mode so I can uninstall the theme?

Hi victorh017

could you remove the battery from phone for few seconds and put it back again, then do this

>press and hold the volume up button and press power button , you can feel phone vibrates for 3 times, then let got he power button and phone restarts to normal

>if phone vibrates and dont restarts to normal , then leave phone charged using wall charger for 2 hours and try to restart again

let us know

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

You can try to start the phone in safe mode by press and hold the volume down key during the start up. You'll find more information about how to start the phone in safe mode on the following link:

Try removing your Sim card and see if it boots up. I also had this problem and it turned out the update had damaged my sim!
If it boots without yours, try someone else's and see if it works. You may have to get a new sim like me 😕

Hi everyone and thanks for the replies.

@manjuboyz thanks for the tip, but the battery inside the Xperia T is non-removable. I tried holding the volume up and power button at the same time and it did vibrate 3 times like you mentioned. But the cell phone still crashed when it was about to display the unlock screen and rebooted itself.

@Alexander Thanks for the link and for welcoming to the forum. I had already seen that page, but holding the volume down key during the start up didn’t cause the phone to boot in safe mode. It kept on crashing when it was about to show the initial unlock screen.

@Kaytea I tried removing the SIM card but it didn’t help. Sorry to hear that the update damaged yours. In my case, the update to 4.3 itself went fine. What was causing the cell phone to crash was the COLOR PIXEL theme available on Google Play.

Ultimately I had to use the REPAIR option on the SUS and I lost all my contacts and settings…. Now it’s working fine and I’m re-installing everything…
