ROOT LOCKED/UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER (LAST POST)

Hello Folks,

After buying a beautiful phone called Xperia P i was very happy , untill sony provided me with regular doseof BUGdates the so called updates. Finally i knew the so called warranty was useless when u couldnt use your phone properly on the stock shit(Frustrated for past 8 months) ,so i unlocked my bootloader and rooted my device and after trying the different mods and tweaks i guess now i have a perfect device with me thanks to Devs @ "XDA" rather than SONY.

Since i am a heavy user this combination gives me very good performance and a Screen on time of above 4hours 30 min.

The maximum Standby that i have got is lost 1% of battery in 10 hours ie 11pm to 9am.(I do not use stamina mode ever its buggy shit)

and yes i am on 2G network and leave my data packet on throughout. this app Battery defender just switches it off when ur screen is off and ur back online when the screen is on,works better for me than stamina mode. I do not have the Lag in dialer (ppl say it lags for 10 -15 seconds:smileyshocked: why the hell is this called a phone then :smileyshocked:).

Hi mithun! Have you tried this JB rom? Any idea if this is better than moonbreak?? Thanks! Can you make a changelog on the details of rooted phone over unrooted phone? And also the locked and unlocked bootloader? Hehe I know this is too much but I really want to understand it before trying to root and unlock my phone. I know I'll fully understand it once I performed rooting, but for now I want to ask an advice from some expert with experience :smileygrin:! Thanks a lot, hope it will also help everyone who wanted to root and unlock their device but afraid of the result. :smileygrin:

I have been trying hard to understand the rooting thing. i referred to the xda developers thread too.. But i could not go forward. I clicked the link, the same thing opened again..!
I think its not my cup to tea. Can anyone help me in making my phone a better thing to live with.!!

Rooting is done to get super user access .. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335992 to root ur device .. once rooted u can flash/install new mods(modded applications), custom roms(created by some experts in XDA) .. once rooted u need to install cwm which is a recovery whr u go and flash any mods or roms ... clear??? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020895 to install cwm ..

Jack, thanks for the info. though i know this after reading so many thread.. my question is.. when i went to the thread u have mention " 2335992" . i see a list of sony devices and when i click my device "XP", it again opens that page.. how to download the thing.. how to proceed rooting..!!

so did u notice the v14 ??? it is our version to root our device .. now go down in the same post and download v14 .. it is a zip file ,.. extract it to ur computer .. now connect ur device to the computer and enable usb debugging under settings, developer options .. also enable unknown sources from settings, security .. now run the bat file from the extracted folder in your computer .. during the process it asks u to enter some three lines .. jus follow and type tat .. then ur device reboots and u r done .. rooted

hello guys i just wanna ask if there is any known issue regarding moonbreak? and what is the best kernel for it? i really like to install moonbreak because of camera and walkman mod but just too scared that i may brick my phone, pls help me out guys...

one more thing is there any huge difference in camera and audio department between moonbreak and .100 stock rom? thanks guys

if u unlock ur bootloader and flash a kernel ull loose warranty and also ur bravia engine wont work ..

jus root ur device, install cwm and flash any custome roms, or mods like camera, album, walkman, don flash a custom kernel .. it ll brick ur device .. even in ur stock rom u can install all the modded cameras, walkman ete ..
