ringtone problem

When i assign a specific ringtone to a contact, it plays even when i receive whatsapp and other messages from them.

eg.- whenever my mom messages me, the whole song that i set as a ringtone for her starts playing.

I just want it to play when i receive a call. Any solution for that?

Sounds like perhaps the whatsapp developers might need to look into which ringtone the app should use. It sound strange that it goes for the personal ringtones assigned to a contact.

change the setting in whatssap. in your whatssap, go to Settings > Notifications, and make sure the "Contact ringtone" is not selected. Selecting this will tell whatssap to use the individual contact ringtone.

I have a Xperia Sola and when I define a specific ringtone to a contact, when that contact phones me, the song playing it's not the one I have defined for that contact but the one defined in the phone

Could you help me?
