ringtone for the group of contacts

Please help. Slightly_frowning_Face  How can I set different ringtones for different groups of contacts (family, coworkers, etc)??? (Sony Xperia ZR)  Crying_Face

I can set individual ringtone for each contact. In case of setting ringtone to the group of contacts it doesn't work right - the ringtone still is the standart one, which was set in the general settings. Please help, I would be very thankful!!

Rickard, Alexandra and Sony support group,
I am using xperia zr c5502 and I'm using this phone heavily for business reasons. This basic feature is personalizing the groups is real basic and must be available. Otherwise there is no point in providing group feature where I can assign contacts but can't enforce then to leverage a group pattern. Somehow lacking this impacting my day to day business. I would love to stay with Sony and thus looking forward for a solution from you.
Hope to hear a solution from you soon. Thanks

I'm afraid we have no solution for this as this feature is no longer supported. But you can try downloading 3:rd party apps for this from Google Play. I see there are a number of apps for settings ringtones for groups.

Hello everybody!
I just wanted to say how disapointed i am.
Such a basic feature...
And, i can understand developers could found some problems while programming, but couldnt a starter pack fix that? That could be a small app, made in few days.
Whosever fault this is, he made Sony look irresponsible and money-hungry.

What a thread!

Do I understand properly SONY is trying to enforce using Google Play feature this way?
Or they want to make people feel like smarter users of the "smart phone" after installing 3rd party contacts application having the basic feature?

Otherwise I do not have any explanation for lack like this!
You can define contact group and then you cannot assign such important key attribute as ringtone to it!?

I do not believe any developer or informed product manager could make mistake like this - remove the feature by mistake.
I believe it must have been a conscious decision on marketing level!

What a BAD DECISION!

And what a poor support stuffing customers with "unfortunately"-starting phrases (what else can they do now)!

You think problem resolved - guys are downloading 3rd party apps now more?!

Finished with SONY - thanks. Spreading the message.
Have a nice support day.
