Ringtone delay on incoming call.

Just updated my Xperia P to Jelly bean.

Have just noticed that on receiving an incoming call there is a 7-8 second delay before the phone ringtone kick in, meaning I miss the call. Any solutions would be very welcome!

I experienced exactly the same, with an mp3 used as ringtone. I noticed that when using a standard ringtone that comes with the phone this issue does not accure, which makes it look like it's mp3-related.

Could it be that you need to move the mp3 file in the phone memory?

Dear alexdon,

The specific mp3 used as the ringtone is in the same location were is was when the phone was still running ICS. Back then all worked fine. Now, when upgraded to JB, all of a sudden, this wierd delay pops up.

Besides, the is an Xperia P. Is doesn't have separate (removable) storage for media.

I have to say, I downgraded to ICS, restored to phone to factory defaults, installed JB, again restored to factory defaults even cleaning up the internal memory (yes, loss of all media data), copied the mp3 back to the phone from a pc, and now it seems fine. It could be a lucky shot, so I'll keep on trying to call myself and be called

My friend,I am glad you managed to repair but you are not quite right with the memory,it does have a memory BUT it is separated into phone memory and sd card memory,you could never combine those two,so you can actually move files between phone and sd card.It is correct the phone sees both combined,but the space taken is from a specific memory.

Oh wait, the problem has returned... And even using a standard Sony ringtone does not seem to solve the issue... This JB update is hopeles...

The problem is caused after using Voice integrated apps like Google Now, Voice Dialer etc... I noticed when I don't use Google now or Voice Dialer the delay in ringtone doesn't happen but as soon I use such apps the ringtone delay happens I guess there is somekind of conflict going on or some bug! Check it yourself!

Hi, i also facing the same problem....even replace the XZ phone.apk still the same problem occur...

i also turn off the stamina mode, problem still exist....

Sony pls give us the new upde for the basic phone bugs must solve !
