Whenever my Xperia J is restarted it can't find the ringtone that I have selected. I am using a custom MP3 ringtone that is stored on the phone (no SD card in phone). I set the ringtone and it works ok until I turn the phone off. When I turn the phone back on it goes back to a preinstalled ringtone. When I go to select the ringtone again it just says "unknown ringtone". If I then go into select a ringtone and then goto Music Library it then says "Music Library Empty", which it isn't. After several attempts to goto the music llibrary it finally recognises that there is music in there that i can select.
Any ideas?
Sounds like there might be something wrong with the media scanner in the phone. Try open up Settings > Apps > All. Find the apps called "ProtectedMediaScanner" and "ProtectedMediaScannerTrigger" and clear data for these apps. Restart the phone, set the ringtone and restart the phone again to see if it worked.

low headphone volume
touchscreen going freezed often..
i tired with update service, PC companion and also gave the phone to a service center.. still the problem is occuring... kindly consider this as JB feedback for xperia J and provide an update that solves these issues...
Hi. Thanks for the reply. I went to try your suggested fix but there are no apps called "ProtectedMediaScanner" and "ProtectedMediaScannerTrigger" so I can't clear the data on them.
Which software are you running in your phone? (Settings > About phone > Software/build number)
I put it in the first post: Software version: 11.2.A.0.21
can sony fix this problem?
