Ring tone only sounds once

I have a ST26i recently upgraded to android 4.1.2.

Prior to the update i had the nokia "Ring Ring" (aac file) ring tone that worked as I wanted. That is if the phone rang 6 times, i heard the "ring ring" 6 times.

After the upgrade the "ring ring" only sounds once, so if the ohone rings 6 times, the "ring ring" is only heard once.

I do NOT want to change the ring tone to any other sound.

Is there a setting that controls this and if so where can i find it.

Thx in advance

There is no setting in the phone to adjust this but the ringtone should still work as intended even after update. Do other ringtones work as supposed to?

Try to reinstall the phone using SUS and check if you still experience this.

I am also experiencing same problem.Think others may be but have not realised  yet as i only found out due to ringing my own phone to locate it. Contacted support and did a factory reset as advised by them- did not fix but i lost lots of my info as struggled to back everything up (my own lack of knowledge but very annoying and time consuming). It reset to xperia ringtone which does work but none of the others I've tried do. Really annoying (vibrate works but not sounds and does not cut to answerphone). Thanks to anyone with answers

all the other preinstalled ring tones work as they should, that is if the phone rings 6 times then the ring tone is heard 6 times.

As Bec stated a facory reset did not fix the problem.

can you at least test it and filnd a solution that does not involve reinstalling the phone.

Another problem i have detected is that i have set the sms alert tone to the nokia message of beep beep.  this setting resets itself periodically.

this problem has not been solve and is still open.

btw, the phone should work for me.

i have not been bothered to test other ring tones as i would expect sony to have done this prior to releasing the update to the general public.

can anyone assist in changing the "assumed answered" status to "still open"?
