restore from old backup

I lost my old Z1 compact and would love to restore my new Z1 from an old backup (with all apps, photos etc.).

Any chance to get that done? 

Using a Mac.

You can restore your apps, just log in with the same google account, as for contacts, if you synced your contacts with Google you should be able to restore them, as for pictures, unless you backed them up with G+ there's no way to recover them

Thanks, but isn´t there a way just to use the old backup file which should includ everything?

I just thougt it should be possbile as it is from Z1 to Z1 ....

Was so easy with an iphone.

Did you created a photos/video backup on your computer with either Bridge or PCC?

I just created a "normal" backup using sony bridge.

Check your HD drive, you might be able to find the pictures if you indeed backed up all the photos

Hi Milzwurscht,

Unfortunately, the backups work through the phone id, so it won't work.

However, I might have a solution for you.

If you can locate the old backup folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac/Backups

should be something like

 

then you have the old backups. What you want to do is create a backup from your new phone, which should create another folder. Then open the first folder and copy the folder with the date you want to restore from (the folders are called "2014-01-01" etc.), and move it into the new folder. Then try to restore your phone again. Make sure not to have Bridge open while attempting this.
