Remove network name from the notification bar

Hello everyone

I received my SP a couple of days ago and so far I'm enjoying using it. There is one irritation though and that is the network name being shown in the notifications bar all the time. It takes up a lot of space ("T-Mobile") which could be used for notification icons. I know what network I'm on so I don't need reminded of it (and if I'm roaming and need to check it, the notifications slider says it at the bottom).

Is there a way to turn this off? It's really not necessary and takes up valuable space. I've gone through the settings but I can't find anything. Any ideas appreciated!

Can you take a screenshot of your Lock Screen and Home Screen(upload the screenshots at box.com and share the link here)? Because my network name "MY MAXIS) is shown below the Notification bar(during Lock Screen) and not shown at Home Screen or other pages.Your "T-Mobile" might be put in the notification itself because the phone is carrier exclusive maybe?

Maybe Your phone is branded by T - Mobile? In that case it is imposible to remove the carrier logo because soft was written for T-Mobile and it was their demand, that logo have to be visible all the time. I think, that without rooting Your phone, there is no other way...

Is your phone locked to T-Mobile?

I'm not sure, how do I check? I certainly got it from them (not bought independently) so perhaps it is.

I just followed the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453326 and this is what I see, so I think it probably is locked

Network subset 0

Service provider 0

Corporate 0

Sim 0

If you have bought it from them,it is branded.
