Hi all,
just update my Sony Xperia Tablet Z to the new firmware, and a question arises: is possible to remove the Operator Brand software installed (Italian Moblie operator: TIM) without root it (i.e.: via original Sony firmware)?
Model: SGP321
Android: 4.2.2
Build: 10.3.1.A.0.244
Thanks in advance,
Luciano
Unfortunately I don't think it's possible without rooting the device.

Hi Samuel,
thanks for your quick answer.
So, this means:
1 - the only fw for this Tablet is the one with brand and Sony don't have a "no brand" fw (or is no public accessible)
2 - if I'm going to install any other fw (i.e. Xperia Tablet Z (SGP321)_GLOBAL-LTE_10.3.1.A.0.244_GENERIC.ftf) it will be considered a rooted device
3 - the only way to remove the unusefoul app installed by the operator (or the orrible "startup" screen") is to gain root access to the device
I'm quite new to the tablet world, so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Feel free to share yours thoughts 🙂
Grazie!
Luciano
Hi again,
Not really sure what you mean at "1" here, but for 2 and 3; yes it will be considered rooted and this would be the only way to remove this software.
