Reboot-loop when restarting device after lollipop update

Hi,

I have got an xperia Z3 device and so far everything has been working fine. Since the latest android update however (lollipop), my phone is constantly rebooting itself, when i want to perform a simple restart. I tried the pcc repair tool twice already. it works, but as soon as i want to restart my device, it gets stuck in a reboot loop.

I also tried removing the sim card. It still gets stuck in a reboot loop.

The question I now have is the following. Is this problem gonna fix itself with an update / bugfix or similar, or do i really have to return my phone and get a new one?

Thanks for any information.

Hi all,

Just wanted to share my "solution".

I experienced the boot loop after updating to the latest Android firmware my Z3, as offered by the Sony update.

After some frustration with the endless loop, i decided to flash the phone via the method proposed by Sony, using Xperia Companion Software repair option. It did work, but when the phone ran out of battery, it went to this boot loop again.

I ended up using the software repair option again, and once again reinstalling all apps.

i decided to troubleshoot it throughly, and try to figure out what was wrong on the process. I found out that turning off my "newly" working phone was taking me back to the loop at boot time.

By reading many forums I decided to remove the SD card and reboot. To my surprise it did boot correctly.  I was able to reproduce the issue and "solution reliably.

From my end it seems that the SD card can not be mounted anymore at boot time, so I remove it before booting or turning it on, and then reinsert it has booted up.

I think Sony should follow my steps and check, since i think the issue when the OS is mounting the cards at boot time, not sure why the OS can then mount it correctly after boot time, probably some drivers are not "probe"-ing before mounting the cards.

Can we get your testing guys to reproduce it so that we can get a new firmware?

Thanks.
