the phone rebooted in my face this morning.  I wasn't playing with it, it was on my desk doing nothing.

It is auto-installing updates. Nothing to worry about.

never saw a option to auto-update the phone and reboot.  Appear to often for something like that.

Hi, I have the same problem (true my phone is z5p). Mine restarting too at nights randomly when its on the charger and it is on 100 percent. ( I know because in the morning I have yo use my pin instead of the fingerprint and it is clearly says the phonr is restarted. Moreover in the diagnostics menu it shows exactly when the phone had a fatal error...) but be happy still its restarting. Mine sometimes just frooze and need hardreset after the error (known by sudden death). With this I only mean the problem is there in the previous series, and software repair, service, changing the phone wont help. (mine phone only 2 months old and I regretto choose sony several time)

So I switched from my Xperia XP charger to my old Z1 charger for a week.

It hasn't restart itself randomly at night, not even once.

That confirms is the problem with the charger.

rebooted 2 times today.  There is a way to see a log about the reboot ?  In the diagnostics.  I got 2 System incidents for today. and 5 since I activate the logs.

I asked one or two pages ago if the phone is hot during or after the reboot, because if that is the case you have all to stop using the default charger as that may be the issue. Reboot today, reboot tomorrow it's ok but in the long run a phone that receive constant energy from a charger (and this issue may be accentuated if the charge is a quick charger one) it can damage the battery and/or the motherboard of the phone.

There is already someone who stated that the issue don't happen when the phone is not plugged overnight and that previous Z series charges prevent devices from rebooting.

If that is the case you should all contact Sony, who knows if they are going to issue a recall for bad chargers.

Edit: it happened with the quick charger of my wife phone, another brand acknowledged the issue and replaced the charger. Issue was fixed.
