Hi. I live in Argentina and have a Movistar account. Recently my Z3 lost its connection and when I perform a search of carriers, it only detects some of them (my carrier Movistar is not detected or listed at all). Could it be a base band issue? Is it possible to change it in a "not rooted" phone.
Thank you
If your networks bands are not compatible with your phone, there's nothing that can be done as it's a hardware compatibility not software. Which Xperia Z3 model do you have? (settings > about phone)
Model is D6646. It has been working for several months, but then my son broke the back glass. I sent it to the Sony service in Argentina to be repaired. They repaired the glass. After one month it suddenly started showing the network was not available. The cell phone was unable to detect my company's network anymore. What is odd is that it still detected some other companies'.
I sent the phone again to Sony, they said it's a Movistar issue because the phone can still detect other carriers, but in Movistar they tested the phone by putting the SIM in a different cell phone and it worked...
One hour ago, I bough a prepaid chip of a different company to test it in the cell phone and it worked, but only in Edge and 3G. It not even displays any 4G network. Other thing I noticed is that the phone is continuously fluctuating into No Service / Edge / 3G...
Now I'm aiming to an antenna issue.. Any idea?
Thank you
