I tried to use this app via Wi Fi on my Xperia Arc S, but when I finally managed to link my contacts to viber contacts (it was hard too), I got this when attempting to call someone. Any help would be welcomed.
Hi @wildheart25c -
The authorities in the UAE have decided to block Viber in the whole country, and that is why you are experiencing this issue. Unfortunately there is not much we can do to help
Try contacting the authorities and ask for the reason for this block.
Good day to the viber team,
Im having the same problem with my xperia ion, it's version ICS, i cannot use viber with my 3G, i rarely use wifi due to my work nature, im always outside/on the go. but my viber in blackberry doesnt encounter this kind of problem since beta came out for blackberry. im working here in Saudi Arabia
thanks for the kind attention.
Hi,
Some mobile operators across the world block Viber on their 3G network. Usually this happens when users have a "simple" data plan (or a prepaid contract), meaning they didn't pay extra for using VoIP on their 3G network.
In order to verify this, we recommend to:
1. Test Viber on a few different WiFi networks, and see that it works fine.
2. Contact your cell company and confirm this with them.
Service was down on O2 network till about 10 mins ago. UK.

I have a strange problem. I have two SonyEricsson Live phones, one of them have access to viber and one of them have not. and the one does not connect says "Viber service is currently unavailable or..."
both of them connect to the same wifi access point in my apartment.
Hi @ali_tk -
Which two Sony Ericsson devices are these?
Have you made sure that Viber is officially compatible with them? (otherwise, this could be the source of the problem).
these two are "Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman" and they are officially compatible with viber and they have Android OS, v2.3
@ali_tk -
Unfortunately they are not
Please take a look at the full list in our official HelpDesk: http://helpme.viber.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/45/3/is-your-android-compatible-with-v...
In addition, we would recommend testing the problamtic device on a few different WiFi networks, and see if the problem is the same on all of them.
Lastly,
It could be that the network you are connected to is blocking Viber's traffic.
1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connecting to a few different WiFi networks (in order to pinpoint the source of the problem). What are the results?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled ("forwarded") on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785
(if you are not sure how to enable ports, you may contact your router manufacturer)
However, again, if all still fails, please bear in mind that we will not be able to assist you any further, since Viber does not fully support your device.
