I tried to use this app via Wi Fi on my Xperia Arc S, but when I finally managed to link my contacts to viber contacts (it was hard too), I got this when attempting to call someone. Any help would be welcomed.
Try to Restart your device
Does not help. Is it possible that Viber does not support our models?
It supports, i (sometime) used to face the same problem
But restarting was the key for me
Go to settings > applications > all > viber > clear data
Restart your mobile and again open viber but use it with WiFi

This probably happens due to your WiFi firewall settings.
Please have the systems administrator go to the WiFi firewall settings to make sure that the below ports are open for both sides:
1) TCP 5242
2) TCP 4244
3) UDP 5243
4) UDP 9785

Hi.. I have exactly the same problem.. I would like to use viber via my home wifi but it says :viber service is currently unavailable or being blocked. Strange is I was using it 2 days ago.. I had the same problem but suddenly it started working ( don´t know how or why) but now it doesn´t work again even if I´m on the same wifi..where and how can I open the ports? many thanks

Also, please specify what country you're located in, and which cellular network you're subscribed to, so we could try and assist you further.
I tried all the responses from above. I don't know how to fix wifi block problems. I am in US and using T-mobile. I already called T-mobile for the problem. They said they did not block anything.

Viber system is currently experiencing connectivity issues. This is related to our hosting provider (Amazon) that is having a major problem that also affects many other services worldwide.

Good day. I just installed the application on my samsung galaxy tab 2 P5100 and I got the same error. I cleared the data and restarted the tablet but that didn't solve the problem. I'm about to try add the ports to the permitted list in my router but I thought I'd ask you about your service in my country.
I live in the United Arab Emirates and I use DU as my service provider. Du hasn't blocked skype. I can make phone calls but the voice quality is really bad at times. So I wanted to try your application. I got the activation code and verified it while using Du mobile data package.
Is the problem that Amazon is facing affecting the service in my country? Shall I go ahead and do the ports solution or it's no use because the service itself is having issues so it's not matter of which ports are open and which aren't?
