"name" field in contacts never stored

If I add a new contact with just a "Name" and phone number, the "Name" is not stored (so the new contact shows up at the very bottom of the contact list with just a phone number).

I have to use for example "phonetic first name" to work around this. This looks like an obvious bug.

It happens both when I use my dav contact server and when I select google for storing it on.

This is a still a problem. Instead of entering in "Name" I have to expand the name section and use specific fields for "First name" and "Last name". This is a bug.
