Apps disappears from home screen

Latest minor Android update for Xperia Z3 Compact keep resetting my home screen. I think that has happened 3-4 times now. First time was after first update. Then It has occured after changing sim cards a few times too. This is really annoying and I'm seriously considering changing phone because of this inconvience.

Also after latest Android it takes a long time for the camera to start working and my SD card access is really slow (takes a while to display SD card apps after booting up).

Are the apps that are moved to the SD card? 

Also, which class is the SD card?

I don't understand your first question. I store apps on the SD card if that is what you asked.

The card is a Samsung 64 EVO. Class 10: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/MB-MP64D/APC. I never had any issues with any of this before latest Android update.

Yes that's what I meant if you moved the apps to the SD card, if you update them they will be moved back to the internal storage, also, what you described seems to be an SD card issue.

1) The problem is not after updating apps.

2) So you are saying at the same moment Sony pushed an update my SD card decided to have problems?

3) The problem is that all (I think) SD card apps are removed from the home screen. They are still available in the app list.

I really think this is a Sony Android bug, not a SD issue.

That's how Google/Android handle apps on the SD card after updates, it's not a Sony's issue but Android, have you encrypted the SD card?

I know of the "update app on SD card" issue and that updated apps have to be re-moved to SD afterwards (which is silly but that's another topic). However that is not the issue I am reporting. I am reporting that all shortcuts SD card apps on the home screen are removed. The apps are still there. If I go in the app list they are available. But removed from the home screen. I have to readd the shortcut on the home screen. This has occured multiple times *only after* latest minor Android update from Sony. This occured after doing the update. It also seems to be related to changing sims as well, but has also occured after a normal reboot.

I understand what you are saying, and that's how it works, at least now it does, this is something you should address with Google, but perhaps @alexdon has a different take. You are also welcome to contact your Local support / Sony directly.

1) This was *not* a problem before latest minor Android update from Sony. So please tell how this was not a problem for one year with having apps on the SD card and then suddenly after the latest minor Android update it is a problem.

2) I will not address anything to Google. I bought a Sony phone running a Sony version of Google Android. It is a Sony problem.
