"Call held by third party" - "Call retrieved by third party" ?

Hi guys, 

Just wondering if anyone has experienced a pop up message during phone calls saying "Call held by third party" or "Call retreived by third party"? 

This happens frequently whenever I am on the phone to a call centre, or anywhere that I am being transferred to different departments/people etc. I am assuming that this is something the phone is somehow able to pick up and that is what the pop up means? 

I have never used a Sony phone before - is this standard practice? I'm mainly just concerned because during these phone calls I'm usually discussing financial/ personal details - so hoping this doesn't mean my calls are being diverted/intercepted (paranoid, I know!) 

If this has happened to anyone, or anyone can explain why this happens, that would be awesome.

Settings > call settings > call forwarding

This is normal, when the person you're talking to is putting you on hold your phone will display a message about this and also when the other person retrieves the call. It doesn't necessarily mean that your diverted.

dears, i face the same issue ; as when i was talking with friends or any one else i heared something like i put my friend on hold  and see the above message : Call retrieved by third party . i hope that no one listining my calls .

When the phone display "Call held by third party" this means that the person you're talking to put you on hold. When the person you're talking to then takes you off hold your phone will display "Call retrieved by third party". It doesn't mean that someone is listening to your call, only that the person you're talking to put you on hold.
