Question about the back plate

After what seems like forever my shiny new phone has arrived!

I have a quick question about the back plate though. On my phone it does not seem to be flush at the bottom. Is this normal or should I take it to a repair center before I get too comfortable with it?

The plastic back is slightly higher than the light strip. Excuse my crude drawing but if the underscore is the back plate and the hyphens represent the illumination strip it looks a bit like this.

I checked on one of my devices and I would say that this is normal since mine looks the same.

I have the same problem. It's almost about a millimeter higher than the notification bar.
