Question about camera performance?

I would like this question answered and maybe it could be a suggestion for the developers and top executives at sony. Why is it that other phone companies using sony's camera sensors take better pics than sony products using the same sensor? With that said I would like to know if the developers at sony care about us enough to try enhancing the camera experience by tweaking the software to improve the camera performance I mean other companies push camera updates to improve there camera performance example lumina 920 portico update has made that average camera amazing. Just something I slept on after my bosses Lumina camera wasn't nearly as good as my tx camera but with an update his camera is making mine look like child's play, this is by no means disrespectful this is a faithful sony customer asking a question to which i'd like a response from sony. We the customers know you can do better than half these other competitors just embrace us when we have logical points and correct us when we step off track and i'm sure you will dethrone the competition.

Exactly Daloch the noise is unbelieveable and i'm no camera expert but you seem to know your stuff about photography maybe sony should hire you to help who ever designs the camera software. I mean the phone is great and sexy but taking a photo to print is a disaster.

I am not an expert about this, but to me it's obvious that a 13Mpx picture, that is 1,5 or 2Mb size, is just crazy.

There are LOTS of phones that allows you to choose the quality, so then you can choose the size of the picture. this becomes in less compression.

This is something that Sony do not allow to choose to the costumers. And this is BAD.

If the hardware is that good as they said (thing that I am starting to doubt), then it has no sense...

What's the meaning of taking a picture with this phone, if it will be set always in low quality??? (so then, when you'll see in the screen of your computer, it will show full of noise).

That's something that we have to choose, NOT Sony for us.

As I always said, this camera has amazing colours, a little bit overexposed clear zones (thing that still happens and they have not fixed), it is fast, it's a good camera... but at the end, you get overcompressed pictures with lots of noise and poor sharpness.

Would be strange to buy a 30Mpx DSLR camera and do not allow to the customer to choose the quality of the picture, right?... well, in this phone it's the same.

If I want to take a 1,5Mb picture (in the lowest quality) is up to me. But if I want that picture to be 6Mb ( for example, in the max), it's also up to me.

Come on, I wouldn't buy a Ferrari if the engine is set up to do not run more than 50Mph. That is just ridicilous.

As I said, unless the hardware it's a Sh*t, this camera can do MUCH better. And it's an obligation of Sony to allow us to choose.

About printing the pictures, you can do as I do. Retouch the picture and try to get less noise, then apply a little sharpness (not a lot or will also look bad), then print, BUT no more than 10x15cm picture. Some of them maybe can be printed 13x18. More is waste your money, because noone will look well.

So sad, but this is the truth.

I still cant believe how Sony can be that idi*tic company as they WON'T realize of this mistake.

Maybe it's the hardware what is wrong, and that's the reason...

Seems a guy on xda found a way to give us the ultra pixel/pureview trick but it's with an app called vignette.Maybe sony should hire one of the guys from xda to mod there camera app but i'll send you the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266773 the app is a paid app but it's worth it. It surprises me that these home developers are more interested in making the camera better than sony is smh,anyway check the link.

did you see the quality of the S4 picture??????... what a joke for Sony 13Mpx cameras (T and Z).

I have to get that S4 as soon as possible and send this cr*ap T to the garbage.

Meanwhile, I'll check that app and I'll try to do what they explain.

Oh, by the way, do not get surprised... Sony is today what it is... just a company that earns lots of money lying to the customers selling defective products with a high-defective software.

To me, they really waste money making commertials for the cr*ap phones, because the phones themselves are what they are.

I wouldn't if I were you, many complaints about the S4 having display issues and a poor battery life.

that sounds strange miffy.

I have read that the screen is way better than the S3 1920x1080, and the battery may last one day without problems (less if you play).

Anyways... I have enough to read that few days after the S4 was on the shops, they released a new update because SOME apps had a little lag...

few days after... (if I am not wrong, Sony took 2 MONTHS to release an update after the first JB).

Other than this, I am not sure if you saw the pictures that S4 takes (yes with the exmor RS that Sony did put in their Z)... it is the same sensor... what a difference man... this, more than never, shows me that Sony has no idea of what they do with their software, not now and they will not either. Moreover, let's be clear, Sony do not give a sh*t.

I am sorry but I had enough of Sony, their 60 days updates, and the issues that never seems to be fixed... overheat, toasted sd cards, VERY POOR camera quality, poor wifi signal, etc etc. This is taking months and months and months to be fixed.

Look at Samsung... FEW DAYS after they released the S4 and there was an update for a small lag in som apps... man, this phone has lags since day 1!!!!, customers said 1.000.000 times, and the lag is still there.

I had the T for 7 months, and i am really TIRED. I feel cheated all the way with a no responsible company that I have clear that all they wish is take our money for selling us a defective product and lying to the customers about the quality.

I'll tell you something, they can make the outside very beautiful, with a special shape, with a "great" screen, with an amazing sound... but if inside it is not supported by a good software, all the rest means nothing.

Every time that i changed my phone, I felt sad, because ALL the phones I had (Nokia, HTC, Apple) were with me years. This is the first time I will change my phone, not even one year old AND I will feel EXTREMELY happy doing it.

At the end, is them who will loose customers (look at me, I had 3 iphones ONLY because the quality)... lots of Nokia (at the good times), because the quality... two HTC because the quality...

I understand the people that likes Sony, they do very nice phones, but I expect something else... and definetely Sony, to me, has absolutely NO idea of what they are doing.

Do not waste your time.

Sony will do NOTHING to fix this defective product that they sold as the best of the best, when the truth is that is a terrible phone.

They don't even care.

Think about this. The S4 has the same Sony Xmor RS sensor than the Xperia Z.... just compare pictures taken with the Z and with the S4... it is just RIDICILOUS.

If you want a good advice, sell this Xpericrap T and go for another phone from a serious and responsible company.
