I would like this question answered and maybe it could be a suggestion for the developers and top executives at sony. Why is it that other phone companies using sony's camera sensors take better pics than sony products using the same sensor? With that said I would like to know if the developers at sony care about us enough to try enhancing the camera experience by tweaking the software to improve the camera performance I mean other companies push camera updates to improve there camera performance example lumina 920 portico update has made that average camera amazing. Just something I slept on after my bosses Lumina camera wasn't nearly as good as my tx camera but with an update his camera is making mine look like child's play, this is by no means disrespectful this is a faithful sony customer asking a question to which i'd like a response from sony. We the customers know you can do better than half these other competitors just embrace us when we have logical points and correct us when we step off track and i'm sure you will dethrone the competition.
+1
I am saying the same than you explained since day 1 that I had the Xperia T.
The quality of the pictures it's just ridicilous compared to other phones with the same sensor.
I hope you will be more lucky than me, because for more than I tried, there is no way that anyone from Sony could give me an answer.
To them, the pictures taken with the T are beyond perfect (you should know that wven with a better sensor, the Z has the same issue than the T)
To me, all is a question of a massive JPG compression (not allowing us to choose the quality of the picture).
Obviously, I think all is in the horrible software that Sony has for the camera. Without any doubt, it is the worst camera software that I've ever seen.
Sony knows very well... will the do something?... nah, it's not worth to listen to the costumers once we have paid for this phone.
Good luck man, I am sure Sony will not tell you a single word.
sony is crap....dis is my 1st and last sony cell for sure.....
Yeah man, I agree 100% with you.
But I am tied to my phone company for 19 months with this phone.
As soon as I can I will sell this and I will buy another one (there are lots to choose).
And then by bye Sony forever more.
This is also my 1st Sony... I tell you, I will not repeat this mistake again.
They don't learn, they keep saying lies to the costumers about their phones.
And of course, they don't give a sh*t about out complains.
i dunno about xperia TX but on xperia T as far as i know the camera is awesome in the jelly bean update on xperia T[lt30p]..much better than earlier..focusing is great, superior auto is also awesome does a great job with all the algorithms and sensors..Fast captures also great now, much better than what i had on my previous phone[xperia p(lt22i) which was on ICS..hdr mode is also great
sample pix
A sample with HDR mode on 16:9 (reduced quality and size due to limitation)
another sample using superior auto
When we release new updates we are of course trying to improve things like the camera and if you haven't done so already, i recommend that you update your phone to the latest software. Our latest version is 9.1.A.1.140 but it might not be available for all countries/operators yet.
The question isn't about the jelly bean update this is my question? Why can't you push a software update for just the camera alone to make the camera better i mean sony makes the camera sensor for the iphone and samsung galaxy yet both those phones seem to have better cameras because of how the camera software is optimised. It's just a question out of curiosity and i do have jellybean but putting the shots on pc it's still full of noise and at times oversaturation. Imaad i don't know about you but between the two phones the tx is better the screen is better and the camera looks better as well i've had the luxry of trying both phones for two weeks and in the end i choose the tx my question was and still is this why doesn't sony optimise there camera software better i'll bet that the 13 mp sensor that sony made for the galaxy s4 will produce better pics cause of samsungs software optimization.
With the new update, the camera is still the same.
Very poor quality pictures. Lots of noise.
Is that difficult for Sony to allow their costumers to choose the quality?, is it really that difficult???
Since I bought this phone last November, I am trying to say that the pictures are overcompressed.
If to that overcompression, you add a very small sensor and a TERRIBLE algorithm, then you get the pictures that this phone (and for what I saw, the Z too) does.
You add very interesting modes to the camera, but you keep with that HORRIBLE compression.
You really won't learn of your mistakes, isn't it?
