PUK code entry for Xperia X10?

Hi, I have the PUK code from my service provider but can't for the life of me figure out to type it in?  The screen says 'SIM card is PUK locked' and the only thing the phone will allow me to do is make an emergency call??  It would be great if someone out there could give me a solution!

Tap Emergency call and enter the following sequence using the  keypad: * * 0 5 * [PUK] * [new PIN] * [new PIN] #.

Hi, excuse me but I tried to do this and after entering the code, the phone says "Enter a new PIN code" and still show me the emergency call. Could you help me please ?

hey there hat **05**# doesn't work for me, when i enter all of that like **05*80063169*0000*0000#, this is what i typed in the emergency dialler and then it says.. "connection problem or invalid mmi code"

Well while entering puk code i don't get any tower (or should i? i don't know)

and swapping phones doesn't works as the sim is not detected by any other phone other than mine, please tell me how to overcome this problem
