i have same problem with screen active during calls.
some problem here....
same problem screen goes blacks as soon as I call, really annoying and sad
The same thing happened to me. After I read a little around some other forums (including this one), found out that disabling tap to wake should solve the problem, so I did exactly that, I disabled it. Called a friend to test it, and guess what, my happiness quickly vanished after 2 mins when I started to hear again the touch sounds that my phone was making. When I looked at the screen, I found that I was in the configuration menu for the Default Homescreen (incl widgets, apps, wallpapers, themes). This is just plain awful! I already installed today a tempered glass shield and I'm not sure what to do with the phone, if I should keep it or not. Don't know if Sony will solve all these problems that can be found on this forum soon (I have the low notification sound problem as well)
Been working for 2 weeks ever since I had "double tap to wake up" off
Anyone tried the latest patch to see if it's fixed now?
Don't have access to a comp currently!
One thing I just noticed is that when on a call with the screen off becuase of the proximity sensor close to your face, then you move the phone (and your head) towards being horizontal (as opposed to usually holding the phone vertically) the screen comes back on. (you would quite easily hold the phone at this angle when lying or sitting).
However this ONLY happens when the number pad is displayed on screen! This may explain why this 'screen taps during call' issue moslty happened accessing voicemail for me.
But what also happens is if you have the phone horizontal to start, the proxmity sensor does not turn the screen off during the call at all - try lying it flat on a table and using your hand to cover the proxomity sensor - it doesnt work! Pick it up so its vertical again and cover the prox imity sensor - and it works again!
And it doesnt really need to be totally flat. Testing it some more it seems to happen at about only a 45 degree angle which one would proabably hold their phone at for many calls, even when standing up.
That may explain why when the screen starts registering taps when on a call, then why I look to see what is happening, the screen is off . But in that split second from hearing taps to looking, you hold it almost vertical again meaning the problem goes away.
Also, if you press a key (eg to send a tone) when the screen is on, then cover the proximity sensor so the the screen goes off, the tone/key press gets stuck on until you take it away from your face and the screen comes back on!
I wonder if this is all the cause of the orginal 'screen taps during call' problem or a related issue?
This works BOTH with and without doubple tap to wake enabled.
Does anyone else have the same behaviour?
