Proximity sensor bug in Android 5.0.2

There's a problem with the proximity sensor when making calls. It doesn't work or takes some time to deactivate the screen when I put the device near my ear during a call. The result is that the notification bar is pulled down by the touch of my ear and other widgets or settings are "tapped". This was not happening with the Kit Kat as far as I remember. I already tried the Diagnostics and it shows that it works fine.

I hope it's fixed in the .283 firmware which is about to start rolling. If not it should definetely be fixed, at least in the upcoming Android 5.1 upgrade! It's really frustrating!

I just came here to post about the same thing. There's definitely a delay between when the screen turns off and when the digitizer turns off such that you can still send touch signals with the screen off for a second or two. Is anyone else having this issue?

That's not possible for me at the moment as my bootloader is unlocked. I don't think it's a bad installation as I flashed the image from Sony without any modification. This started on the first lollipop build and it continues on this one.

Yes. Didn't help. I don't think it's an issue of OS installation failure. It's definitely a bug. I've read quite a lot of reports in other forums too.

This phone is my daily driver, so I can't flash another OS version and lose my setup. I can tell you that this didn't happen for me on Kit Kat.

Now that I have read these posts I know why people I call ask me to stop pressing the buttons! Same problem since 'upgrade' to Lollipop. Also, cannot make appointment in the diary. Now, diary is nothing more than a glorified Callender.
